THE ABILITIES


FIRST EDICT - DECAY: An ability inherited from being the Angel of Death. This allows Azrael to decay, destroy, rot, or perish anything that is organic or materialistic. However, Azrael has to be touching or making full physical contact with any part of his body. This is only activated if Azrael wills it. Furthermore, if he wishes it, Azrael can restore his execution to it’s previous state physically or mentally.

SECOND EDICT - CLAIRVOYANCE: This ability, once activated by the will of AZRAEL, allows the angel to reach out to his Heavenly Father, granting him in a glimpse into the future. This authorizes Azrael to foresee the next action of any being within a range of up to 321.869 kilometers, roughly 200 miles. Albeit this lasts up to five minutes.

THIRD EDICT - CONVICTION: Possibly his strongest edict, this permits AZRAEL to strip the faith from man to divine being in less than seconds, rendering the entity devoid of all faith; hopelessness consuming them. Howbeit, he has to speak words, “ Thou shalt not covet the voice of thine mother or father. “ without being interrupted to successfully perform the edict.

FOURTH EDICT - RENAISSANCE: This law of AZRAEL grants him the ability to raise the dead, be it man, angel, or mythical creatures of any age in time, using them at his disposal for an army. Their soul is still in possession of Azrael, of course, but their reanimation allows them to roam freely about until Azrael accords them a command.

FIFTH EDICT - SICKNESS: Similar to decay, this let’s AZRAEL infect any organism with an illness, sickness, or disease such as arthritis, cancer, a simple stomach virus, or the flu with the touch of his fingers. With creativity in mind, Azrael can will such diseases into actual entities with a cognitive sense. In addition to inflicting individuals with such, he can purge the pestilence with a single thought. Moreover, he can create new diseases and illnesses with ease, stretching his imagination to it’s limits.

SIXTH EDICT - DESTRUCTION: Just as it sounds, AZRAEL has full control over the concept of destruction, allowing him virtual authority over anything deemed with a destructive purpose. An example of this is dropping a pen; causing instantaneous nuclear level damage on impact and manipulating it as he ever so pleases. Either magnifying, reducing, or condensing the magnitude. This also includes destroying or nullifying anything and everything that comes within the bounds of the concept of destruction. Henceforth, giving him the necessary force to implode an entity’s entire body by touch alone. There is no limit or weakness to AZRAEL’s ability over destruction, but he does need to make physical contact with said force otherwise the edict becomes void.

SEVENTH EDICT - EQUILIBRIUM: A square purple prison; shifting to hold the being(s) in the interior, that once trapped inside, turns any and all within an extension of god’s universe that no one can enter or exit without the permission of the Heavenly Father himself or AZRAEL. The cubical prison known as Equilibrium, slowly tires out any within, draining their stamina and chipping away at their sanity. Projectiles or intangible attacks may pass through, all except for physical action.

EIGHTH EDICT - MIRAGE: An ability where those effected by Equilibrium, are subjected to an illusion by Azrael and the father’s will. Such illusion depends on the one within, gnawing at their greatest fears, failings, and tragedies. While it is not supposed to hurt them physically, the ability is mentally draining, allowing it to latch itself onto the victim inside the prison that is Equilibrium.

NINETH EDICT - QUINTESSENCE: This grants AZRAEL the ability to take the soul of whomever falls victim by the hands of the Angel, immediately taking ownership of their soul. As the new owner, AZRAEL has full control; allowing him to summon their reanimated body into battle or attend other needs of AZRAEL. Another way he claims ownership is through his prison — equilibrium. Once anyone or anything steps falls as a casualty to the purple prison, they now serve AZRAEL.

TENTH EDICT - ELYSIUM: A gift from the father himself to AZRAEL, thanking him for the being the Angel of Death, guiding the newly retired souls of man to a better place — a heaven. Almost like the real paradise, Elysium is AZRAEL’s own heaven, granting him nigh-omnipotence over his entire domain. The only way to enter through the golden gates is through equilibrium, or if AZRAEL has possession of the being’s soul. Through this heaven, one shall receive the ultimate judgement — penance or purification.

Abilities

Shapeshifting: Being the Angel of death, AZRAEL has full mastery over his entire body, able to shapeshift, becoming anyone or anything that’s ever existed. He is able to emulate their voice, albeit with the exception of not being able to harbor said person’s memories UNLESS they are dead.

Regeneration: Like most Angels, AZRAEL has the ability to regenerate from wounds. Because he’s an archangel, his healing factor is amplified, allowing him to recover from wounds in mere moments than any other divine being would.

Intangibility: Death can be anything or anyone. Being intangible allows AZRAEL to render his entire body phase-able practically making him a ghost. Henceforth, he has complete molecular control over his entire person, effectively making any part of his body intangible by the single thought of his mind.

Telekinesis: The power to control things with your mind. AZRAEL has telekinesis like many other angels do. Only able to wield such a feat because of his scythe, AZRAEL has total mastery over it and can freely move or pick up anything with his mind. A skill he practiced very diligently.

FOUR THOUSAND WINGS
An ability, that once activated, let’s AZRAEL grow eight gigantic white wings on his back, allowing him flight. The speed at which he is able to fly is unknown, but it does traverse and exceed faster than light. That’s not all though, for the wings also grant Azrael a passive, enhancing his reflexes, natural physical prowess, his strength and his mind, vastly improving his resistance to illusions and telepathy. The wings also grant him great protection against unholy and holy elements, rendering him nigh-immune to such. The wings are heavily durable, becoming almost indestructible as far as resiliency goes. However, they have a downside — the wings can be cut by weapons blessed by holy material. Powerful unholy weapons have the same effect. The wings have offensive capabilities along with it’s defensive assets, being able to shoot lethal feathers from it’s possession. The feathers are a sharp, yet soft quill of the wings that, when hit by, can completely decimate through a mortal’s skin like paper. This can say the same for objects, as it cuts through armor or weapons very easily. Of course it can’t cut through anything, anything remotely holy or unholy displays fallibility from the feathers. The feather also has the ability to track and lock on to targets, following them for an eternity until it hits them. Literally. Of course, it can be outmaneuvered by managing to dodge it somehow through intangibility or sheer reflexes, but the feathers move at an incredible speed that rivals swiftness of the wings themselves. Almost.

THE BLADE
ABYSS
Finally, Azrael’s signature weapon — the scythe known only as Abyss. Taking on the form of a katana, Abyss is Azrael’s most trusted companion, capable of slicing through “twelve mountains in one stroke” as the folktale states. In reality, of course, Abyss can cut through ANYTHING like paper with no effort. The origins of the blade follow as, “What ‘‘twas once a feeble hilt, the blade known as Abyss grew with it’s master with every soul conquered.” Henceforward, Abyss is made up of every soul to have ever died. It is the very essence of death, granting the blade further strength with each soul gathered; the more souls it collects the stronger the blade becomes. Because of this, the scythe is, in a way, “living”, almost having a mind of it’s own — it’s mission: trying to protect his master at all costs. As stated above, Abyss can cut through ANYTHING; the blade is unbreakable, piercing even the most holiest and unholiest of weapons and apparel. In the uncanny case it is broken, it shall repair itself, for it is composed of every fallen soul. Because AZRAEL has a strong connection with Abyss, he has complete molecular control of it. Being able to shape and shift the blade into anything he wishes at his will, to telekinetically controlling it with his mind. Any and all who fall victim to the blade becomes one with it, absorbing their soul into the Abyss. A unique ability that the blade can possess is the power of the soul it captured; using any and all abilities said soul might’ve had in their previous life. This principal remains true for the souls already residing within Abyss.

THE ARMOR:
DEVOTION









The actual origins of the armor is unknown as it was given to AZRAEL by his father seemingly as long as he could remember the first moment of coming into existence. However, it is theorized (mostly in myth and folklore) that Azrael was granted this armor by the father for his utmost devotion to the guidance of souls and leading them to the afterlife, and being touched as unholy. Devotion is capable of taking the souls of any living entity in existence barring for the heavenly existence of GOD. Although, the only downside to this extraordinary gift is that it needs to be filled with an unholy soul — henceforth, the ability to take any soul. No mortal’s soul can be unholy as they do not cross the words of the father, only succumbing to their sins. The only unholy soul that one can have is if they are a demon. Subsequently the purge of an unholy soul, DEVOTION is able to kill any entity. One said entity is killed however, the armor will not be able to carry out it’s task until a new unholy soul has been collected. Barring that in mind, AZRAEL has to be wearing the armor for the action to be successful; the armor cannot become sentient itself. Nonetheless, the armor itself can still be worn in combat and has many capabilities. It is an armor touched by the father himself, immediately granting him pure indestructibility against mortals and unholy beings themselves. Considering the fact that the armor is unholy, it can be penetrated by holy divine beings such as other archangels and holy weapons. Despite much belief, AZRAEL actually doesn’t wear the armor that much, only really using it once he is in battle or at Great War. Perhaps #FINEDIERUM might change that...

DIVIDED IMMORTALITY


Cursed by the Numen himself for failing to accomplish a single task, the concept of LIFE and DEATH were born. Sariel and Azrael were forbidden to suffer the fate of death unless both of them are killed by the same misfortune. Due to their souls being bonded by the same chains, you’ll almost always see the duo nearby each other. No, they can’t feel each other’s pain but they can swap physical states if one happens to be in a better condition than the other.

This malediction forces Sariel and Azrael to share half of a soul, thus they can fuse themselves together to sculpt a single entity called AZRAETH, meshing both sets of their Edicts to combine their strength. This fusion represents the concepts of LIFE and DEATH as one.

Azraeth wields a spear that embodies both of their holy weapons as one, being able to activate both any of their expertises. As told in the tales, Azraeth’s soul can vanquish the weak minded by simply just being by their presence. It’s said that Azraeth can wipe multiple countries by simply snapping their fingers.
